dedicated blog - men i love: willie
I've toyed with the ideas of having a dedicated blog as a regularly updated post, but I always canceled that notion when I would remind myself there isn't anything besides my job and friends that I'm that dedicated to. The other day I was thinking to myself that I need to get on regular posting and somewhere between popping a bottle of champagne and taking a foot bath it dawned on me: I'm dedicated to loving the men in my life, and boy do I have at least a years worth, none of which I can even be romantically linked to. So without further adieu I give to you my inaugural man I love: Willie.
The first time I knew I would love Willie was in 6th grade when he bicycled from this neighborhood to mine to borrow one of my shirts for school photos. We were both new kids in school (and obviously the most stylish) so I think it was an automatic connection of feeling the same things. Through the years Willie has become my best friend in the whole wide world. I have the honor of having 5 amazing best friends who I can't even imagine living without, but he is truly a soul mate of sorts, and coincidentally the only man who actually knows how to keep me in check. We have endless amounts of amusing tales that could create a blog of its own. I could go on and on about our amazing lives together, but the best thing about it is that just we know, like our own little secret adventures. Sure, we've had amazing times at the Speedway, ruled Mass Ave. before we graduated high school and have a country drive so legit you've probably asked for directions, but our adventures are more than stories to be told, they are experiences that have help make me the person I am today. Through the years we've had many situations turned hilarious and the best times ever, but more important, I've gotten to watch him grow as a man and lead people to things more than they could ever conceive of experiencing. To have Willie be a part of your life is more than a blessing it's an uplifting experience and an education more profound than a textbook could teach. So here's to you, boo: thanks for all of the good times, making me realize how valuable the bad times can be, and for being a great friend through it all.

the day we've all been waiting for: xliv
The great blizzard of 2010 had kept the Hov's and I from making it back to Championapolis for Super Bowl gloriousity, so instead we are making the most of it, snowed in to their Chateau in Shadyside.While we are hoping the pens game helps pass the time and cure our anxiety, I've whipped up a little pre-game snack for your reading pleasure...enjoy!
T'was the morning of super bowl when all through the hova house Not a creature was stirring, not even Dallas Clark; The Colts helmet was perched on the vizio with care, in hopes that the big show would soon be on; The love birds were nestled all snug in their bed, While visions of victory danced in B's head; And Bitty in his beer box, and I on the couch, had just settled down for a quick game of tetris.
While down in Miami there is heaps of Colts thunder, making Saints fans waiting for their defense to blunder. Away from the blizzard Bri & Jen flew to the beach, tore open the patron & took to the streets. The moon on the ocean in gorgeous M.I.A. makes all the Colts fans anxious for today.
Around 6pm our team will appear with hopes of a second Super Bowl victory in four years. With our glorious quarterback, so lively and quick, Drew Brees will be wanting to S.his.D. More swiftly than a bobcat coach Caldwell will lead, call plays and shout, and call out to his team;
"Now, Mathis! now, Peyton! now, Collie and Freeney! On, Addai! on Sanders! on, Garcon and Diem! To the depths of the end zone! Through the uprights with the ball! Now rush away! Block away! Tackle them all!"
In a twinkling the nation will hear Colts country roar, we'll savior the glorious feeling like we haven't tasted victory before.
Our defense needs to stay tight and so closely bound, leaving the Saints offense to wonder just how to get a first down.
The one thing that kills me about the team from a city being re-built, is a man from SoCal who has my all heart. He is handsome and dreamy, a favourite SC alum, I won't cheer him on tonight, not even a fist pump; A burst of his speed and a twist of his head, I hope he doesn't leave me with loving him to dred.
Now we patiently wait until kickoff time, countdown to NFL is already on and its barely past nine; Molly is busy already prepping her dips and Hova and I are anticipating heaps awesome blitz. May our hometown heros do everything right, keeping peace on the westside and leaving no one to fight. The grace of our offense finding the end zone a plenty, And out scoring the Saints and leading Peyton to bigger than powerball money. When we wind down to the end of the game, may we spring to our feet and cheer on our victorious team. And Irsay will hold the Lombardi trophy & proudly exclaim, as the Saints dwindle out of sight, "Happy Super Bowl to all, and to all a good-night."
